1. The 'Backstage' bar is very lively, but gets busy in happy hour so the service tends to be slow, so best to arrive early.

2. Our advice is to chose your room carefully - they are arranged in blocks around the pool and gardens and marina view pools away from concert venue seemed to be best (quieter and less public).

3. We got free breakfast and this made our stay at the hotel as the staff here were at their best and the setting is great with a lovely view of the marina.

4. best I can figure, the bed has a waterproof mattress cover which was also very hard and lumpy and kept bothering my feet.

5. This is a fine resort (really a motel on steroids), that has beautiful grounds, a good restaurant, and is right across from the marina on one side and a beach (although not one of San Diego's best) on the other.

6. In response to the poor review on March 18th, the room comes with 6 pillows per bed, and the pillows were all different kinds so you can pick which was best to sleep on.

10. The airport is close by, the noise did not bother us, as the hotel filled up towards the end of our stay it got a little noisy, maybe best to get a second floor room.
