1. Loud gas station and busy street outside, love being woken up at 6 to honks and trucks backing up.

3. We went to both Delmar Beach and Torrey Pines State Beach - both highly recommended, very clean - the sea was quite rough and the waves big, so probably not idea for tiny children - but older kids would love it, and you could hire body boards in certain areas.
