1. I would have given it 5 stars except for parking: expensive, I went to a city lot and paid a lot less but had to walk a short distance to the hotel.

My first stay at the San Diego Solamar has being Excellent , very good location at the Gaslamp quarter whit a lot of bars ,shops and restaurants ,or enjoy a great meal at the JSIX restaurant at street level or Loungesix at the 4Th floor where the bar and pool are also located ,whit a exceptional view of San Diego.

6. Sounds like a good concept except when you are trying to check out and there is only one front desk person who is helping someone decide what they want to do for the day.

9. If you are just looking for a nice clean place right in the middle of the Gaslamp district this can be a great choice, except for the fact that at times the prices at the Solamar are much higher than the other perfectly nice standard hotels nearby.
