1. Shelter Island is gorgeous and peaceful and, if you have kids, I don't see why you'd want or need to stay in downtown San Diego.

10. The location of the hotel is right by the water and if you like to jog or walk, it's a stunning view to jog by the bay and in the evening, the view of the city across the water is gorgeous.
