1. But an old hotel needs to be loved and requires more attention than a newer hotel.
"A grand old hotel deserves better " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/21/2012 Vote
2. The bedding was clean and had a duvet between two sheets instead of a comforter and five pillows (although my pillows were flat, hubby seemed to have gotten a decent one) and the mattress was newer-feeling.
"Decent historical hotel " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/1/2012 Vote
3. The walls are thinner and the rooms aren't in perfect condition (although very clean) as in newer hotels.
"Historical ambiance with the comforts of home " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/15/2012 Vote
4. The hotel is only a couple of blocks from the Riverwalk and has an elegance many of the newer hotels right on the river lack.
"Lovely Old Hotel near Riverwalk " Read full review on TripAdvisor   10/17/2011 Vote
5. If you are looking for the new carpet smell, stay at the newer hotels.
"Fantastic Hotel and Staff " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/28/2011 Vote
6. We kind of missed the typical ameniteis we are used to at newer hotels, such as free wifi and continental breakfast.
"not a holiday inn express " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/5/2010 Vote
7. The bathrooms were old, ceramic tiles on the walls were chipped and outdated, pedestal sinks with older faucets, but newer shower curtains/shower linings and shower head.
"Good Value for the Price and Location " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/31/2010 Vote
8. The windows and fixtures on the sink are definitely very old (possibly as old as the hotel, maybe a few decades newer), so they show signs of age and use, but nothing that I would ever classify as an issue with the cleaning staff.
"Convenient and comfortable with an older charm " Read full review on Expedia   9/11/2009 Vote
9. The rooms have been re-done and still have that 20's and 30's style to them, but needs updating with coffee bars ,refrigerators, microwaves and newer carpet.
"Wyndham's Historic Hotel stuck in time " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/8/2009 Vote
10. Are their nicer, newer hotels closer to the Riverwalk? Yes, but for the price we paid, I do not regret our stay and would not be disappointed if we got the same hotel again.
"Wonderful Experience " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/14/2008 Vote
