1. The hotel is nice, the rooms were large and nicely decorated, a balcony overlooked a beautifully landscaped courtyard, the beds were very, very comfortable with luxurious linens.

2. There are other hotels (and other Marriotts) in San Antonio that are closer to the river and/or more modern and luxurious, but I felt like I was 'experiencing' San Antonio here and have to recommend it to anyone headed that direction.
