1. You may want to ensure you have a newly renovated room and perhaps on the inside for noise purposes but our room was excellent (spacious and well-appointed) and the service was friendly and professional.

3. It had been 10 years since we have been to downtown Portland and the number of people laying around in sleeping bags, drinking and panhandling, in the park and along the sidewalks, discouraged us from further shopping or exploring new restaurants, but this city likes things the way they are, so visitors must deal with it.

4. My boyfriend and I stayed here around new Years and loved it.
"So beautiful and convenient " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/12/2011 Vote
5. The valet drivers scratched and dented the back of my new car, the elevator broke (which my daughter is deathly afraid of elevators so she refused to come upstairs), they had some sort of awful chemical on the floor in the main hallway, We wanted to enjoy a movie with our kids and suddenly the movie system was down for 2 days, They 'upgraded' us to the party floor for new years eve and we didn't sleep due to the noise, they charged us for a bedroll the following night even though they state that kids are free.
"HORRIBLE STAY AT THE GOVENOR HOTEL " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/10/2011 Vote
6. But with a number of new competing boutique places nearby, all the Governor needs to do is freshen up and it could be a hit.
"Great location, rooms a bit tired " Read full review on TripAdvisor   6/28/2010 Vote
7. I would give this hotel 1 1/2 stars but with new owners or a makeover it could go as high as 3 1/2.
