3. First, please pardon the title of this review - as an Illinoisian, I have not come across any 'Governors' to be happy about in a long time until my recent stay at the Governor Hotel.

4. He also made reservations for us at Andina, a fantastic Peruvian restaurant, where we were treated like royalty, including complimentary port and sweets after dinner, and best wishes from an attentive staff for a happy anniversary.

If you are staying in Portland I cannot believe that you need to consider another hotel - location was excellentBar staff were very entertaining - Jake's grill offered great value for money with a first class menu try the drinks in the happy hour It is nice to discover a Hotel that still has good old fashioned service ideals - where the customer comes first.

7. The young lady at the reception desk was very friendly, told us all about the amenities of the hotel, the fact that there was a happy hour at the bar (we we enjoyed) and upgraded us to an elegant room which was very large, weel-furnished and had a fireplace.
