2. I'd also like to note that Portland's wonderful light rail system will get you from the airport to within easy walking distance of the hotel in well under an hour for under $3.

4. It is very centrally located, and it was just a seven-minute walk to Voodoo Doughnut, a five-minute walk to the original Powell's City of Books, and a 10-minute walk to the Lan Su Chinese Garden (all wonderful, by the way).

8. Two years ago we stayed at the Portland Marriott city center and it was a wonderful experience which is why we chose not to make reservations with our friends at the Hotel Monaco and went back to the Marriott.
