1. Also, if you aren't a big breakfast person, I suggest visiting one of the independent coffee shops nearby that serve local Sumptown coffee.

8. We visit Portland about twice a year and based on this most recent experience at The Marriot City Center we would put this at the top of the following list:Marriot City Center- great service, big bright quiet roomsThe Heathman-great service, awesome breakfast (and expensive) great perks (free water, chocolates, Peets Coffee) small roomsThe Vintage Plaza-good service, large but dark roomsThe Westin- will not stay here again -see review The Benson- great lobby, small dingy roomsHope this is helpful.
"Marriot City Center- An Unexpected Delight " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/28/2005 Vote
9. The corner room was large and very clean (as is expected of Marriotts) and the staff was professional and friendly (another Marriott standard) but the hotel itself was bland and (I thought) poorly designed: elevators took forever to arrive, the small restaurant and bar was tucked away on the second floor, and the 'fitness center' was a few machines and a big jacuzzi.
"Extremely ordinary " Read full review on TripAdvisor   6/12/2005 Vote
10. I stayed at this hotel for the first time over the big Portland Rose Festival weekend.
