1. I was hesitant because we normally do big chain hotels, but decided we wanted to have a different kind of experience in New Orleans.

6. If you are looking for something fancy or a big breakfast without paying over $100 (basically something too good to be true), don't come here, but the low room rates allowed us to eat and drink without worrying about spending too much.

10. My friend and I are big walkers and we actually walked to the French Quarter (and beyond into the Marigny) from the hotel one morning (about 1 1/4 miles from the hotel to Canal Street, the start of the Quarter).
