1. The rooms are large, the location (in the heart of the Garden district, arguably the most beautiful residential area of New Orleans) is excellent and within walking distance to many restaurants and attractions, it is extremely affordable, and the hotel offers free parking, an idea which most hotels this close to the center of the city laugh at (you'll usually pay $20-40/day).

3. The hotel provides the typical Continental breakfast but why would you do that when you could walk the 3-4 blocks to Surrey's? The free parking at the hotel will help you afford going to one of the great restaurants.

5. While my colleagues were paying out the nose to be across the street from the convention center, after my work was over I hopped on a streetcar and met my boyfriend for drinks in the more scenic parts of town because we could afford the luxury.
