The next evening (yes, 24 hrs later) we returned to our room to find a welcome letter from the

al Manager along with a bottle of water and a praline from the bakery next door.

There was some street noise from Decatur at night, but it didn't bother me and I travel with earplugs as a
gener
al rule anyway (I would recommend them if you're staying anywhere in the French Quarter).

Since I travel so much for business I prefer boutique hotels for my pleasure trips as they

ally have a sense of warmth and family that the chains rarely provide.
