5. As it happens, I had booked a suite anyway so the lack of a huge upgrade wasn't a huge issue, but as a top-level member of the hotel chain's loyalty scheme staying in a $400 suite booked with cash (not SPG points or anything), I would have expected a slightly better attitude.

7. They need to do a better job here due to the competition of Hollywood rooftop pools.
