My bottom line is that this hotel is only
acceptable
when transiting LAX (which I was doing) and solely on the basis of its location so close to LAX.

I did mention the bed was nice though right ? The thing that really pissed me off though this stay is I got an email after my initial reservation asking me if I was willing to
accept
an upgrade at time of arrival if available.
