1. You do need to have a car regardless, but it's best to have at least a couple of restaurants that are open past 9 pm in walking distance.

2. Otherwise, it's best to be closer to other areas such as the Museum District, or Downtown Houston, where you would have more access to other things such as shops, restaurants, bars.
