1. Very dirty rooms (plenty of cigarette butts on the balcony) and not friendly staff at the registration desk (at least one person who didn't want to make any effort to understand foreigners).

3. The hotel has a pool and a fitness area, but there is so much to do and see in San Francisco that we didnt have time to make use of these facilities and we got plenty of exercise walking around.
