1. I love historic older hotels---but those that require larger rooms or fancy bathrooms probably won't be comfortable here.

2. The hotel appearance was lovely, with bright flowers all around us, including in a little window box right outside our windows so we could see them all the time; felt like we were in Spain or Italy.

6. In the morning I walked with my dog to the Palace of Fine Arts and then Chrissy field and the off-leash beach which my yellow lab just loves.

7. Lombard Street is one of the main streets through SF but just round the corner is Chestnut street with lovely independent shops and restaurants and you get a real feel that the people are mostly local from the area.

9. I loved looking out the windows at the gorgeous bougainvillea plants in the courtyard, and there's even a little dog run to take my dog to for quick bathroom stops.
