3. please do not pay attention to any reviews complaining about times that the front desk in unattended becuase there is always somebody available either at their front desk or the desk at the white swan which is directly next door and litterally 20 steps from the door.

7. I realize that many of the older hotels in San Fran are like this, and it can be part of the charm, but please be warned if booking online that the pictures they show of the rooms here are of the large sized rooms, not the majority which are much smaller.
