4. The rooms are cooled via window air conditioners, so don't expect much of a view, even if you have a streetside room.

Some cool restaurants to try are:Johns Pizzeria (branch in soho, and times square- this is a converted chapel) - massive yummy pizza, very good value for moneyFannellis cafe in soho - great food, bit like Cheers on the decorJoes Shanghai - long wait so get there early, also its quite crazy and you will be sat at a table with strangers, but the dumplings are amazing ( their speciality) and so are their other dishes - try the greens.

8. I also see these same dirty, old air conditioners not being able to keep the rooms cool in the summer.

9. However I think we would only book again if we were going in a cool season when it would not be necessary to use air conditioning and we would check first to see if the building work had finished.
