As a spa resort, Miraval excels with delicious and copious food (a reason to go in itself, plus there's a full bar from 3pm-10pm), fantastic spa treatments (their new gorgeous spa facility will be unveiled in spring 2012), a variety of welcoming classes and activities, beautifully landscaped grounds, lovely and clean facilities, and a gorgeous desert vista.

5. For some reason it was a big hassle to get a rental car delivered to the resort--upon arrival one staffer told me it would be an extra $100 to return the car to the airport.

Several things went wrong during my stay including construction that closed down a good part of the outdoor seating (despite being promised by the reservations agent that there would be no construction during my stay) and a non-functioning outdoor shower that was a big reason that I opted for what is their most expensive room type.
