1. Since the NCAA Basketball Tournament was in town for the days we were in Portland, we were fortunate that this property had availability, since it seemed like most of the downtown hotels were already booked to capacity.

2. It's contemporarily decorated, easy to check-in and out (like all Marriott Courtyards), has a nice gym that's free for guests and a fun/hip diner adjacent to the lobby that's very popular with guests and locals alike.

3. And could the front desk have acted like they cared a bit more? This property is owned by an intermediary and I can tell when I'm not getting real Marriott service.

4. If you are a light sleeper like me, be prepared for the road traffice noise.

6. We were impressed by the style and the amenities here - It seemed more like a full-fledged Marriott than a 'Courtyard,' which is generally the more basic version of the brand.
