1. It's location has its pros and cons - centrally located on the west side of the big island (30 minute drive) north to Hawi or south the downtown Kona.

2. The island is big, and a car rental (4x4) is a must have, otherwise you will not be able to experience the islands full potential.

3. We visited the big hotel once or twice, but it was a little too much like a theme park for us - mostly enjoyed the pool close to us and had a good base to head out to great snorkeling and beaches north and south of us.

4. All in all, we're not sure if we'll return to the big Island, as the resorts are a bit isolated, and we prefer the Oahu (Ko Olina) and Maui resorts, where there is a greater variety of activities and destinations to enjoy.

5. not that the gardens are not well kept, but these are not the rooms backing on the golf cources with the big views.
