1. Despite the lobby and the restaurant being closed for repairs, the hotel is a decent place and has an ideal location on the point of Hanalei Bay.

4. Cook landed many years ago, B) Swimming Pool was simply fab, never crowded, natural feeling, hot tub seemed to be a social place in the evenings and also great views could be had from it; C) closest beach (down the hill) was great and has a decent reef, C) hotel/resort has good proximity to the whole North shore from the town of Hanalei (real surfer feeling/tourist friendly), to dayhikes on the Kalalau Trail (unbelievable) and Tunnels Beach (DON'T MISS IT, REPEAT DON'T MISS IT: fab snorkling, loads of sea turtles, great reef, fish, but only in summer when waves are mild, refer to photo I took attached); D) authentic 'south pacific' feel: big tropical mountains right to the beach; E) there is pool side food which is fine; F) Grounds/gardens on the property are immaculate; G) Lots of international visitors and people seemed to be friendly and respectful when we were there; H) front office staff/golf cart drivers were all helpful; I) Princeville plaza has a very diverse grocery store (just expensive, see below).
