2. This is definitely budget accomodation - nothing fancy but a very convenient location, a complimentary breakfast of coffee, fruit, muffins and bread, free wireless access and parking (although we had to park across the street one night).

4. There are far more fancy hotels in the area, so take your TV-Commercial expectations and whiny kids to one of those and leave me to enjoy the quiet and beauty of the real world.

This is not a sophisticated fancy hotel or a resort destination with activities, but it was just what we wanted; an inexpensive easy going base for our exploring (we hiked near the ocean to the active lava flow from both Chain of Craters road and Kalapana - very very moving wonderful experiences - and to Hiilawe in Waipio, a tough hike).
