7. The owner of the hotel is a Phoenix history buff and published author; the hallways on all 7 floors are filled with old photographs and news clippings about the city and its history.

9. Fortunately, I was given a new room the next morning (again at the end of the hall but it was a dead end, not one with an access door to the pool/vending/ice machines.

10. The ladies room in the lobby looks like something in a Russian nightmare, I was told by the truly lovely woman at the front desk that this was newly remodeled.
