1. I don't find Westin hotels consistently great, but this Westin is an excellent hotel.

2. If you have lots of baggage or are traveling during rush hour, I would skip the Metro and take a taxi to/from DCA - even in traffic, it was only a 20-25 min ride and less than $25 - otherwise, the Metro is very efficient and a great way to get around what is otherwise a walker's city.
