6. The area within a few blocks of the hotel looks a little sleezy and a woman might feel uncomfortable walking there alone at night, but we had no unpleasant encounters there at all -- aside from a few panhandlers, which we saw in many places around Boston.

The hotel is not in a touristy area, it seems to be a regeneration project with some nice old warehouse type buildings being refurbished alongside office blocks, it is similar to the Shoreditch/Hoxton area of London and has a bit of an `edge` but I never felt uncomfortable on my own at night - be streetwise.

9. The Bulfinch as stated in other reviews is a renovation of an old building which has been done in a more European style meaning that the rooms are a little smaller that normal US hotel rooms but not uncomfortably so and pretty standard for us Europeans.
