1. However, I've stayed in them in other hotels before and never had a problem.

3. Because I have breathing problems, this has now become an unacceptable practice; whereas in the past I was immediately moved at check-in to a nonsmoking room when I confronted the desk clerk, this trip I was required to first spend a night in a room where smoking is allowed.

4. Although this room overlooked the railway line the train noise was not a problem (they are few and far between).
