- I was at a conference at the Mandalay Bay convention center, and you can walk outside from the pool area past the Mandalay Bay pool area to the convention center and
avoid
the casino.

If you're staying for more than a day or two, this is a nice way to have a relaxing vacation, a peaceful 'home base' for your Vegas adventures, and to
avoid
the crush and tackiness that's hard to
avoid
in the Strip hotels.

Right after checking in, the concierge on duty helped us book tickets for Cirque du Soleil's Love and she also gave us tips on what route to take to the Mirage to
avoid
getting stuck in a traffic jam on the strip.
