Yes, there are homeless people around generally (you will see them if you're anywhere in the downtown area, not just near this hotel), but I never had anyone approach me in the area of the hotel (not even late at night or early in the morning) and I never felt unsafe walking to or from the hotel.

4. Yes, there were lots of homeless people on this block, even more than I am used to as a New Yorker, but never felt unsafe or seedy in any way.

6. The negatives were that it was at the edge of the Tenderloin and the rooms were noisy (to be expected in Downtown San Francisco); however, I never felt unsafe.
