It was clean and comfortable, but it is located right on the corner of the Tenderloin District (a
rough

As others have commented, it`s a bit of a
rough
block, but sort of par for the course for cities.

Its really not in that
rough

When I stayed at the Bijou 1/2004 and had employees stay in 2004 and 4/2005, they commented that the area was
rough
but manageable.

The hotel is pretty close to Union Square, but one potential negative for some people is that the location is kind of in the Tenderloin, so it might seem to be a bit of a
rough
neighborhood.
