1. Our room was at the rear of the hotel, which meant that, although Lombard Street can be busy, we weren't disturbed by traffic noise.

2. Our room was over looking Lombard Street which is a main road and did have a steady flow of traffic along it - rather like listening to loud waves whooshing on the shore - I've heard worse and although we were aware it was there it didn't disturb us.

3. We were in a room overlooking Buchanan Street and weren`t disturbed by noise at all.

4. The only negative point is that on our floor (2nd), there were a number of vending machines close to the lifts that were very noisy and would probably be disturbing if you were staying a room next to them.
