1. While there's plenty of hotels and motels to choose from in San Francisco, it's difficult to find that perfect balance of decent quality and excellent pricing.

8. We were stuck with a minivan from our rental car company which made it very difficult to fit into the tighly packed parking garage so I would recommend only having a compact or midsize car if you are staying here unless you are an experience inner city parker/driver.
