1. When my wife had a conference at the Four Seasons, I decided to come with her, and being a loyal Marriott patron I booked this hotel, which was just a few block away (the conference hotel was too pricey).

2. Having said that, and realizing that Chicago is a pricey town (much to my syrprise), you could easily stay somewhere outside the downtown area and be just as satisfied because you can get pretty much anywhere in downtown Chicago for like a $7 cab ride or a short ride on the El.
