7. However, the decor needs updating and its a little worn - if you like decor of every colour and pattern imaginable with leopard print robes then this is the place for you, for me its a bit kitsch and out of date.

8. The Sazerac is a happening place - great food (you must try the dates) and atmosphere - and you feel lucky to have it available to you downstairs, as opposed to other hotel restaurants that 'will do' if you're simply too tired to venture out.

10. Then I read a Tripadviser response from the hotel dated April 7, 2009 that didn't resonate well with us (basically the message I interpreted is that you are hooped if you book Hotel Monaco through Hotwire).
