1. 30 which was a) a little too late some mornings (especially when we wanted to hike and avoid the midday sun) and b) too short for a hotel of this size-The tables filled up rather too quickly meaning that when we did have a table outside we felt quite rushed so someone else could use it.

2. Also, since most people would be driving into Lihue in the morning and away from it in the evening, I was able to avoid most rush hour traffic as I would generally be going in the opposite direction both times.

3. In the winter the ceiling fan was more than enough cooling for me/ It does expose you to the roosters though so if you are looking to avoid the sound of Kauai's signature bird you should get AC and close the windows.
