1. I would not recommend Greektown as a destination to gamble: if you are like us, you work too hard for your money to lose it without at least being entertained while it is being taken from you.

3. I rode the elevator with seemingly 2 dozen screaming 21-year olds, and an apparently drunk women leaving the casino fell hard against my car as my wife waited.

However, while I was waiting in line a security guard approached my wife (who was standing off to the side) and informed her that we would not be allowed to bring our cooler (which was a small, hard-sided igloo that held only food and water for our extended time in the car during our road trip) into the casino or hotel.

7. The room we stay in was 2418 a suite with a nice view of the following: Tiger Stadium, Ford Field, Music Hall, Fox Theatre, Opera House, hard Rock Cafe, and GM Renaissance Center.

8. hard Rock is novelty but the food runs with it, the walk is nice and there are a few other places like fishbones or Detroit Fish Market, Opus One for a little more hype.

10. With the look of the place I would have expected a hard covered menu and not something that looked as it came from a local diner, I knew from here the food was to follow.
