Having just had a mediocre experience at a more
expensive
hotel in Chicago (not a Marriott), we found the Courtyard City Center to be a breath of fresh air and an exceptional value.

Parking is
expensive
(it's downtown Portland, after all), but I recommend just taking the MAX from PDX and not worrying about a car unless you absolutely need one.

We were concerned about the
expens
e and convenience of parking but needn't have been - on street parking is available for blocks around and is free between 7pm and 8am so no pricey valet or overnight parking is necessary (Different hours at the weekend) so we managed to park right outside the hotel for nothing.
