We were greeted by a different receptionist (she was having a better day than the 1st receptionist), she apologized for the

and immediately offered to upgrade us to a larger room.

except that the toilet had a habit of running occasionally (a sign of slow leak in the flap valve), and the slow leak led to an overflow.
