8. The check in staff had to do double duty as concierge and they were not as connected and well versed as a normal Ritz concierge would be, however, they were always pleasant to work with despite providing minimal service.

9. I had the misfortune of falling ill while at the Ritz and I was genuinely moved by the way everyone from the concierges, to the front desk, the bell stand, housekeeping, and even room service felt the need to check-in on me.
