1. This little gem of a hotel was a bit difficult to find and check in was at their sister hotel was a bit down the street, but once that hurdle was cleared the place was wonderful.

4. We were a little skeptical when we arrived-- the hotel looked a little run down from the outside, and there is no front desk-- you have to check in at the Hyatt a few blocks away.

5. Also, because the check-in desk is at the near-by Hyatt, there is no staff at the hotel at night, and there was no one available to help people get in the main door without their key.

9. Reasonable value for Santa Barbara ($150/night) although a little unusual in that check-in and facilities (pool, restaurants) are a block away at a separate hotel (the more expensive Mar Monte).

10. Yes, there are no staff at this hotel itself but the very classy sister hotel where you have to check in (and can use all all the amenities) is only a short walk away.
