Though all of our activites were within
walk
ing distance, it was nice to have the option to be dropped off and picked up in the Escalade by a friendly Faimount staff member.

The hotel location was excellent, across the street from trolley service to everything in town, and just a short
walk
from all the things we wanted to do, like the River
walk
, La Vallita and, of course, The Alamo.

(Also when we had to
walk
by to get to the elevator/or back to our room we would have to pass their clouds of cigarette smoke-there was no other way around it) I'm allergic to smoke, it was horrible.

There is no breakfast place inside hotel so you have to
walk
to get breakfast but they give you Starbucks coffee for coffee maker so I was happy.

Also, it's only a short

to Southtown and the King William Historic District where there are good restaurants popular with the locals.

It's located right across the street from Hemisfair Park, adjacent to the La Villita Historic District, and only a five minute

The room upgrade was a pleasant surprise and we thank the bellhop for telling us that we could
walk
to the Alamodome instead of fighting the traffic to get there.
