We had no problem switching hotels until we saw where they booked us--one of those places you drive up to the room, right next to the
highway
, old carpet, old TV, old beds, less than clean and it smelled like cheap cologne.

My room was facing both the Max line and a
highway
overpass and the train and traffic noise was pretty high.

It is also not too far to walk to downtown shopping and easy to get on the
highway
or hop the transit.

Even with the
highway
nearby, the room itself was quiet.

This hotel is really close to a bunch of bars & restaurants and the
highway

The balcony view was supposed to be "partial" river view but all I see is the
highway
.

The Anystream2000 showerhead sprayed alternating ice cubes/scalding water everywhere but in the shower, the pancakes downstairs were horrible (how do you screw up pancakes?) and the bath tissue in
highway
rest areas is softer than what was supplied in our room.

Cons: The 'city view' is of, for the most part, an entrance ramp to a
highway
bridge, though you can also see several of the other bridges over the river, too.

However, the staff could not have been more friendly and obliging, and the location was awesome -- within walking and/or busing distance of everything we wanted to do in and around downtown, and a short hop on the
highway
for the few things we needed the car for.

We tried to cool down the room by opening the window, but then the noise of the nearby
highway
kept us awake.
