1. The Conwell is a smaller facility, more homey and personable than the big box hotels of downtown.

I just returned from a quick family trip and needed a location that was outside of the high parking prices of downtown but not too close to family (you know what I mean - I'm visiting, not moving back in with them!) Anyway, this quaint inn is on Temple University's campus and an easy shot down Broad Street to either City Center or out to the burbs.

6. I used a TripAdvisor coupon and got a room upgrade at a reasonable price and only $15/night valet parking (other Philly downtown locations charge $40/night parking - ouch).
