1. I will not pick apart the downsides because they are to be expected everywhere in Orlando: crowded on the weekend- lots and lots of families in the pool but you can find your space (just like the parks/downtown disney, etc).

2. We didnt use the Mall for meals - the car took us to downtown disney crossroads etc in 5 minutes but there are facilities if you choose.
