We changed rooms but I talked to the
manager
on duty the next morning and was told how sorry he was and the hotel was under construction and it was on the web site, etc. If I had seen on the web site that the hotel was under construction, I never would have made the reservation.

later that week, and he apologized, refunded the room charge unsolicited, and invited me back for a better experience at the hotel (again, on my own dime).
