1. Several visits from maintenance didn't solve the problem (I can deal with dirty walls and an uncomfortable bed, but A/C in New Orleans is kind of a necessity).

2. The price on Hotwire was $155 per night, plus $28 per night for valet parking - so less than $200 per night with parking in the Quarter, which is a good deal.
