1. There is no need to rent a car unless you want to explore other parts of the island, but the majority of sites are within walking distance of Duval st.

4. All in all, I would recommend this hotel, I realize the location would turn some people off, but as long as you don`t mind the main attractions not being within walking distance, you will be fine at the Sheraton Suites.

5. the first time I stayed in key west i stayed in old town and loved being able to walk everywhere and really get a feel for key west.

6. It was too far from downtown and when the shuttle left you off, it was only at one location (Conch Republic) and you had to walk to where you were going.

7. We walked to other beaches, restaurants and tourist sites, but it was a little far to walk to Duval and the main street for entertainment.

8. Just walk out of your room and cross the street to Smathers Beach, a really great beach with plenty of palm trees for shade, lots of white sand and treats and chairs available to rent.
