1. In thanks for being a top-tier member of the Hilton HHonors program I was given complimentary bottles of water and had the option of choosing a free box of candy or toy from the hotel's funky little pantry -- nice touches.

At the Curtis, not only do you not get breakfast, but there is no complimentary coffee in the lobby (I was told I could make in my room which is true but I prefer real cream & not the hassle of brewing in the room), no wine glasses or opener in room, no bath robes, no pool, no free bottled water, and room service trays which sat for days in the hall.
